I am the Senior Manager of the Centre for Learning, Innovation, and Simulation at the Michener Institute of Education at UHN, and a PhD student in the Health Professions Education Research stream at IHPME and The Wilson Centre. I completed my MA in education and digital technologies, where I studied determinants of participation and heuristic value assessment in professional virtual communities of practice. My current research interests include exploring theories of wide cognition in the development of adaptive expertise, especially at the team and system level.
When I used to have time to read for fun, I remember enjoying everything from fantasy to true crime to novels. The last book that left an impression on me was “A Man Called Ove”, by Fredrik Backman. However, it could have had something to do with reading it on a beach.
I love podcasts – some favourites include Reply All, FiveThirtyEight Politics, The Daily, 99% Invisible, and CANADALAND.
I have two young daughters, and they are finally at an age where they can play video games with me. Our current favourite is Untitled Goose Game, where you play a goose who is intent on spreading chaos by playing pranks on unsuspecting townspeople. Big thumbs-up from all of us!
